Remote Integrations Engineer
(Ruby on Rails)

At DesignFiles, we’re looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our team and guide the development and maintenance of key third-party integrations that power core features of our platform.

About Us

At DesignFiles, we’re building the go-to platform for interior designers to manage every part of their business—from concept to completion. More than 5,500 customers already rely on our tools, and our remote team of 30+ is growing. If you care about building great products that solve real problems, we’d love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain robust integrations with third-party tools like QuickBooks, Stripe, Pipedrive, Calendly, OpenAI, Mixpanel, Vendor Feeds, and more.

  • Own end-to-end implementation: from planning and authentication setup to webhook handling, background jobs, and scaling.

  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to scope integration use cases that bring real value to users.

  • Write clean, well-tested code and follow best practices around API security, error handling, and performance.

  • Contribute to technical planning, code reviews, and a healthy engineering culture.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails experience.

  • Strong HTTP/REST API fundamentals and HTTP client libraries; proficiency with OAuth 2.0, API authentication flows, security best practices, webhooks, background jobs, testing, performance, and capacity planning.

  • Proficiency with RSpec, SQL, Docker and Unix Shell. Knowledge of modern Rails frontend stack.

  • Focused on building integrations that are reliable, well-documented, and easy to support over time.

  • Takes full engineering ownership from concept to deployment and beyond—collaborating during planning phases, driving technical implementation, and maintaining features post-launch.

  • Fluent English and strong communication skills.

Apply for the job

This is a full-time, 40-hour/week remote contract role. We’re specifically seeking candidates (not agencies) based within ±2 hours of Central European Time (CET).

If you’ve led complex third-party integrations and care about building tools that are stable, secure, and genuinely useful to users—we’d love to talk.
